Excuse the Mess, The Spadefoot Nursery Soft Opening

A bit over a year ago we decided to start this plant nursery, expanding on what Petey Mesquitey does in Cochise County. Finally, after a year of schlepping our plants from farmers market to farmers market, we finally have a retail location.

We have started this business on a shoestring, and have some goals before we do our GRAND OPENING, but we thought we'd give the space a test run to see how it works, and we know y'all are dying to see where we are at.

See selected dates in the event, 8am-4pm at our retail location, 2831 E Broadway Boulevard, in the property behind Jen's Organic Home & Baby. Please park in front of Jen's, next door to the east at the old Rose Petal shop or in the neighborhood behind. Information can also always be found on our website at SpadefootNursery.com.

The nursery isn't totally finished, but it's finished enough to have some plant sales. We will have more plants available to browse than at our normal plant sales since this will be our permanent retail location.

We are excited to launch our nursery, finally. Soon we will be open daily with regular hours. Until our grand opening, we will have these popup sales.

Please only show up to the nursery on the days we announce we are open.

Spadefoot Nursery Grand Opening

Saturday, July 6, 2019

2831 E Broadway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85716

Grand Opening Details

Grand opening celebration including presentations from
Petey Mesquitey, Jared McKinley, Katy Gierlach, Carianne Campbell,
Judy Mielke, musical performance by Robert Anthony Villa.

Spadefoot Nursery has been opening up shop for what they call “soft opening” dates during the month of June. Starting in July they will be open 5 days a week, Wednesday through Sunday, 8am-4pm.

On Saturday, July 6 Spadefoot will be open for regular hours (8am-4pm), and then, starting at 7:30pm, will celebrate the grand opening with a small party, open to the public. Spadefoot Nursery founder Petey Mesquitey will do what Petey Mesquitey does. Owners Katy Gierlach and Jared McKinley will talk about the intentions and goals of the new nursery. During this evening, attendees will have a chance to chat with Judy Mielke, author of Native Plants for Southwestern Landscapes, and get their books signed. Carianne Campbell of Strategic Habitat Enhancements will talk about biodiversity and the work being done in urban areas to support pollinators. Robert Anthony Villa will entertain us with his violin.

Mostly we want to have a nice shindig to thank our supporters who helped us, in one year, begin to realize our vision.
