The Baja Arizona Home Wildlife Certification
We have created a checklist for those of you who wish to make your backyard a better wildlife corridor. Nobody does a perfect job, and we all can do more to make our spaces safer for the wild. But we hope that you approach this list with a willingness to learn and improve, and that you revisit this questionnaire when you feel like you have taken steps to elevate your backyard for the critters that live around us. The questionnaire also prompts you to give us suggestions and alert us to items we may have overlooked.
This is part of our constant campaign to help people see the wild, not fear it, and learn to support it. We will be posting articles on subjects addressed in this survey.
If you are even trying, we will add your address (without your personal data) to a google map that will be posted here when we have accumulated a number of entries. Please share with your neighbors, friends, coworkers, strangers… help us create enthusiasm for loving wild things, and making room for them in our world.
We believe the best change comes from what we do personally in our lives. While the news may be bleak regarding the environment, you have control over your own space. Start there, and then encourage others to follow.
If you give us permission in the survey, we will share your name on our social media, and website, as being committed to making space for the wild. Please upload any pictures of your space (it could be a landscape shot, or just of a particular plant, bug, bird, or whatever you noticed in your yard. This can apply to businesses as well).
Pledge to adhere by as many as our suggestions as possible, and take a minimum of 5 Spadefoot Nursery classes, and you get the official Baja Arizona Home Wildlife Certification.
